Daily Itinerary
Day 1: Welcome to Lucca
Walking tour of Lucca
As Lucca is totally flat predominantly pedestrian zone, a walking tour is suitable for people of all ages.
After checking in to your city centre hotel, our tour guide will meet you for a 2.5 hour guided tour of the cities main sites.
Strolling along the ancient city wall, see the exterior of Puccini’s birthplace, the dazzling church of San Michele, the impressive Piazza Napoleone and the adjoining Piazza del Giglio, the Romanesque San Martino Cathedral. Learn about the origins of the crucifix which is said to have been made on the night Jesus died.
Walk along the bustling Via Fillungo, the upmarket shopping street in town learning about the origins of the imposing medieval buildings and towers, including the tree-topped Torre Guinigi and the picturesque Piazza Anfiteatro where lies mini Coloseum.

Day 2: Montecarlo Winery
Montecarlo Winery Tour
Visit our favourite family run winery in Montecarlo, Lucca with a day that is completely personalized to you. You will have the opportunity to see how the wine is produced and sample till your hearts content. Or take a bottle out to the suggestive corners of the property to enjoy a glass privately or in the company of your group.
This winery is famous for Montecarlo Rosso DOC, Montecarlo Bianco DOC, Vermentino varieties, and of course olive oil, so there is something for every taste.

Day 3: Via Del Vino Winery
Via Del Vino Wine Farm Tour
Head to a famous via del vino wine farm and descend down to historic conservation cellar for a personalized tasting session among the ancient barrels. Visit as many neighboring wineries as you wish or settle into one for a local lunch paired with wine.
Later that night, your private driver will take you back to Lucca for a relaxing evening taken at your own pace.

Day 4: Charismatic Chianti

From your hilltop village in the Chianti region, your private guide will take you on a journey across the Chianti hills, past the vineyards and olive groves, toward our favourite Chianti winery to visit the cellars and learn about the production methods of the Chianti Classico. After a Tuscan-style lunch paired with wine, you’ll make your way to a second Chianti winery for another wine tasting before making your way back to your accommodation for a light dinner in town.

Day 5: Medieval Montalcino

Bequeathed with an array of medieval architecture, Montalcino has much to offer its visitors. An unspoiled medieval center, stunning views over the surrounding countryside and wonderful food and wine are just the beginning.
Today can be a leisure day or we can arrange a guided tour with an expert guide. Take in the panoramic views of the Val d’Orcia and Vallombrone learning about the last battle standard of the Sienese Republic. The fortress is open all year round and is not to be missed.
Walk down Via dell’Oca towards Via Panfilo to Piazza Garibaldi, with the small 11th-century church of Sant’Egidio. Of course being a wine tour in a city known for its wine, settle into a wine bar in the evening for an aperitivo of local wine and delicacies recommended by our tour guide.

Day 6: Montalcino Wine Tour
Visit the best Montalcino wineries
Montalcino is well known for the production of delicious wine, the famous Rosso and Brunello di Montalcino with many boutique wineries easy to reach from the city centre. Visit two of our favourites on a private wine tour where you will sample the best wines paired with an authentic Tuscan lunch. See the wine production and learn about the origins of these widely celebrated wines served at the very best restaurants around the world.

Day 7: Welcome to Montepulciano
Montepulciano guided tour
After settling in to the quaint rennaissance town of Montepulciano, discover this charming hilltop town and its beautiful surrounds with a local tour guide.
Visit Porta a Prato, San’Agostino Church, and marvel at the spectacular views from the Church of San Biagio above, learning about the area’s history, legends, and traditions along the way.
Become acquainted with the area’s famous Nobile wine by ending your tour in the town’s best wine bar for an aperitivo.

Day 8: Excursion to a modern winery Montepulciano
Visit a modern winery
After breakfast, our private driver will take you to one of our favorite Montepulciano wineries with a modern twist.
One of the leading producers of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG and Rosso Di Montepulciano DOCG, this winery serves up a blend of award winning wine in an artistic setting surrounded by nature.
This is the perfect day out or overnight stay for lovers of architecture and red wine, with white varieties also available. In addition to famous Montepulciano wines, sample esquisite artisenal olive oil drizzled on Tuscan bread and other local delicacies.

Day 9: Visit a small organic wine producer
Discover Organic Montepulciano wine
Take a very short trip to a local certified organic wine producer of Vino del Nobile DOCG, Tuscan Rosé, and olive oils. Set in the rolling hills with views of Montepulciano, you can stay for a bit or a while sampling wines under the Tuscan sun or even meditating with some yoga.
Head back to town afterwards to freshen up for dinner at a family run restaurant frequented by locals.

Day 10: Finish off in Florence

Take a tour of the city’s top sites, starting in Piazza della Repubblica and finishing at the iconic Ponte Vecchio
Your guide will impart their wealth of knowledge on the rennaissance ar architecture and history of the breathtaking Duomo and the Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral. A highlight is certainly the Galleria dell’Accademia to see the jawdropping Michelangelo’s David.
Weave through the streets with your guide who can give you an insight into the local life and advise you of the best places to eat and shop on your leisure day.
Finish your day with some wine tasting at a few select wine bars only locals know about where you can try a selection of all Tuscan wines paired with appetizers like the famous truffle.

Day 11: Leisure day in Florence
Leisure day in Florence
This is the perfect day for returning to the sites you enjoyed most on your tour or visiting the sites you missed. We highly recommend a tour of the Uffizzi Gallery and the nearby Boboli Gardens.
Or you can quite easily traul the jewellery shops of Ponte Vecchio, the buzzing fashion strips or try the best Florentine street food which is never in short supply.

Day 13: Goodbye Tuscany

It’s time to say goodbye to this part of the Tuscan tour. After breakfast, your driver will collect you from your hotel and take you to your next destination.
